Turning Stone casinos go cash-only after cyber incident
The Oneida Nation’s casino operator is investigating a cybersecurity incident at its properties.
The hit
Turning Stone Resort Casino & two sister properties in upstate New York are cash-only after a cybersecurity incident, according to Casino.org. Cards, ATMs, sports betting & bingo are down at Turning Stone, Point Place Casino & YBR Casino & Sports Book while specialists investigate.
Why it matters
For bettors it means no loyalty points until Turning Stone Enterprises restores systems. The firm, the commercial arm of the Oneida Nation, has not identified the cause. Casinos remain frequent cyberattack targets because of the money they handle & the cost of taking systems offline.
The record
| Cards unavailable | Tuesday 3 November |
|---|---|
| Data access finding | No evidence of confidential information accessed, reported Monday 8 November (WKTV) |
| Comparable incident | MGM Resorts estimated a roughly $100m hit to Q3 2023 earnings |
What happens next
Turning Stone says it will post evening updates on service availability until systems are fully restored; no timeline given yet.
