Palmerbet faces 535 breaches over one BetStop self-exclusion case
The bookmaker will refund all deposits the customer made between September 2023 & February 2025, the regulator says.

Palmerbet has signed an 18-month court-enforceable undertaking with the Australian Communications & Media Authority after an investigation found hundreds of breaches of national self-exclusion rules, according to the regulator. A customer registered with BetStop on 2 September 2023 kept an open account until 22 February 2025, with bets accepted on 18 occasions between December 2024 & February 2025.
Why it matters
For bettors who self-exclude, the case shows the system depends on operators submitting accurate personal details to BetStop, not just registering the request. Palmerbet repeatedly used a shortened first name & wrong date of birth, which produced negative matches & let wagering continue. The regulator says correct data in 2023 could have seen the account closed within 24 hours.
