Coolbet warns 130+ Tallinn jobs could go

Published: 1 min read
An empty modern office floor in Tallinn at dusk, rows of unlit desks & quiet corridors.

VG Estonia OÜ employs over 300 staff at the Tallinn site now facing cuts.

The hit

Coolbet has told Estonia’s Unemployment Insurance Fund it may lay off over 130 employees at its Tallinn headquarters, according to GamblingNews. The company has started a collective redundancy consultation at VG Estonia OÜ, part of the Coolbet group. The final number of job losses & affected roles will be confirmed once the process ends.

Why it matters

The cuts would hit development, IT & B2B roles hardest, with customer support also affected, according to sources cited by GamblingNews. Coolbet COO Tomas Graham said the restructuring responds to weaker B2B performance & rising regulatory & tax pressure across markets. For an operator owned by Japan’s Sega Sammy since last year, it signals cost discipline over growth even as Estonian turnover climbs.

The record

Jobs at risk Over 130 roles at VG Estonia OÜ’s Tallinn HQ (Coolbet)
Tallinn workforce More than 300 employees at end of Q3 (Coolbet)
2024 turnover €23m / $25.67m (VG Estonia OÜ annual report)
2024 net profit €311,000 / about $347,000 (VG Estonia OÜ)
2026 turnover so far Nearly €60m / about $67m (Estonian Tax & Customs Board filings)

What happens next

Watch for the collective redundancy consultation to conclude, when Coolbet confirms the final number of roles cut & whether Staycool OÜ or VG Estonia’s 2025 annual report are affected.
