Four accounts made $32,500 on Ballon d’Or in alleged insider trades
A separate new account reportedly won $112,000 on Kane, while the account linked by timing put its winnings into an NBA trade, cashed out at about half its stake, then sent money to a Revolut account.
The hit
Analysis firm BetInt says a shared crypto wallet links three Polymarket accounts that bet early & at low prices on the 2026 Ballon d’Or, with a fourth account trading in a similar pattern. Together the four made $32,500 in profit, according to BetInt’s report, published Monday.
Why it matters
The report adds a financial trail to earlier claims that award rankings leaked before the ceremony. BetInt co-founder Dan Zimmerman says splitting bets across linked accounts points to an attempt to hide the activity, not ordinary lucky punters.
The record
| Suspicious activity first reported | 23 October 2026 (Upside) |
|---|---|
| France Football contacts police | 30 October 2026 (The Guardian) |
| Profit made by four linked accounts | $32,500 (BetInt) |
| Separate account’s win on Kane | $112,000 at 64-cent average odds (BetInt) |
| Mbappe-Yamal market move on 9 October | 27¢ to 46¢, linked accounts placed 96% of money ($6,000) on Mbappe (BetInt) |
What happens next
Watch for any statement from France’s gambling regulator or police after France Football’s contact with police, & for whether Revolut’s know-your-customer checks identify the account linked by timing rather than wallet.
