What it does, in order
Reads the record
Every hour it reads the regulators, the courts, the integrity bodies & the company statements on its watch list; three times a day the trade press & the wider feeds. A new notice, ruling, filing or statement becomes a candidate story with its source attached.
Scores the candidates
Each candidate is scored on six criteria: emotion, demand, shareability, fit, sourceability & risk. The editor’s past decisions & what readers actually read tilt the scores; the six criteria still decide.
Drafts in the house shape
The hit in one paragraph, why it matters, the record as dated fact rows & what happens next. Every fact comes from the source text; the story says who said it.
Checks the draft against the source
A second, stronger pass reads the draft line by line against the source: any number, name, date or quote it cannot support is flagged, a private individual named is flagged, a claim stated as proven where the source says alleged is flagged. A revision fixes what can be fixed; what cannot be supported is cut, never guessed.
Sends the editor a card
The story arrives in the editor’s chat as a card: headline, score, the risk colour, the sources, the notes. Approve, revise or kill, one tap each. Nothing publishes on a red card.
Publishes & distributes
The story goes out with its sources & its fact rows, into the news sitemap & the Telegram channel, as a push alert when it is the day’s lead, & to the social networks as a card or a carousel with the link in the first comment. A correction is dated on the story & listed on one page.
What it never does
- Invent a quote, a figure or a source. Every number, name, date & quote on a story is in the source the story links to.
- Rewrite another outlet’s reporting as its own. A story that starts from a primary record links to the record; a story that starts from someone else’s reporting says so & links to them.
- Publish without the editor. Most stories are read & approved by a person before they go out; the narrow exception is documented on How we report & use AI.
- Name a private individual. Public companies, public bodies & public figures, on the record; nobody else.
- Hide a correction. Every dated correction & material update is on the story & on one public page.
- Guess at a reader. No profiling, no tracking cookies; readership is counted on the site without personal data.

Who is responsible
A person. The engine drafts & checks; the editor decides & answers for every story, every headline & every correction. Who that is, where the stories come from & exactly what the AI does before a story goes out is on How we report & use AI. The engine runs on Claude models from Anthropic; the models write & check, they do not publish.
