Padel Betting Markets Explained with PadBets
A match-winner price is simple. Sets, game totals, handicaps & in-play markets are easier to misunderstand. This guide explains the common padel betting markets that may appear on PadBets, without telling you what to bet.
Start with the sport
Padel is normally played as doubles. The scoring system broadly follows tennis: points, games & sets. The International Padel Federation’s official rules govern the game, while each bookmaker’s market rules govern how a bet is settled.
Those are different rulebooks. A retirement may have one sporting result & several possible betting treatments depending on the bookmaker & market. Always read the settlement terms on the betting site before placing a bet.
Match winner
Choose which pair will win the match. Confirm whether the market includes a deciding set & how a retirement or walkover is handled.
Set winner
Choose which pair will win a named set. The first-set market is separate from the result of the full match.
Total games
Back the combined number of games to finish above or below a line. A score of 6-4, 6-4 contains 20 completed games.
Game handicap
A virtual advantage or deficit is added to a pair’s total games for settlement. A -2.5 line needs that pair to finish at least three games ahead.
Correct score
Choose the final set score, such as 2-0 or 2-1. This is more specific than match winner & normally carries a higher price.
Outright
Choose a tournament winner or another longer-term result. Availability, dead-heat rules & withdrawals require careful checking.
What changes in-play
In-play prices react to the score, service position, market activity & the bookmaker’s model. They can move or suspend in seconds. A delayed screen creates a serious information risk, so the bookmaker’s accepted price & bet receipt are the final record.

Three common mistakes
- Reading the pair incorrectly: partnerships can change & surnames may be abbreviated.
- Confusing games with sets: a 2.5-set total is not the same as a 20.5-game total.
- Ignoring settlement rules: retirements, walkovers & unfinished markets can be voided differently.
Price still matters
Understanding a market does not make its price fair. Compare the same market, line & selection across bookmakers. A total of over 20.5 is not comparable with over 21.5. A -1.5 game handicap is not the same as -1.5 sets.
