Wildz becomes first holder of Finnish iGaming licence
Wildz says the licence runs five years, with Finland’s regulated market opening to international operators.
The hit
Wildz has become the first operator confirmed to hold a licence for Finland’s new regulated iGaming market, according to the company. The Malta-based group, which runs brands including Caxino, Spinz & Wheelz, says the Finnish National Police Board authorised it to operate locally for five years, with the market launching on 1 July 2027.
Why it matters
Finland is ending Veikkaus’s state monopoly & opening to international operators, with around 75 companies reportedly applying for licences. LeoVegas & Betsson have confirmed interest. The National Police Board has not published a list of applicants. Being first grants Wildz some security & bragging rights, according to GamblingNews.
The record
| Licence holder | Wildz Group (self-announced first) |
|---|---|
| Licence term | 5 years |
| Enforcement in 2026 | 4 prohibition orders & 6 conditional fines issued (National Police Board) |
What happens next
Watch for the National Police Board to confirm further licence approvals ahead of the market launch.
