Poker sites warned over Paul Gregg account before scandal broke
Jurojin Poker says malware hit users’ computers between June 2025 & January 2026.
The hit
Poker operators were reportedly warned about the suspected Paul Gregg account before the wider cheating scandal emerged, according to GamblingNews. Malware allegedly hidden in third-party poker software let an attacker view high-stakes players’ screens & hole cards. Poker coach Patrick Howard sent GGPoker an analysis flagging the account’s unusual patterns, but did not specifically accuse the account holder of cheating.
Why it matters
For bettors & players, this is less about one account & more about how operators handle warnings before they become public scandals. GGPoker confirmed it had been in contact with Howard regarding their investigation, & CoinPoker ambassador Patrick Leonard said players had complained about the account to operators in past years.
The record
| Malware window | affecting Jurojin Poker users (Jurojin Poker) |
|---|---|
| CoinPoker seizure | reportedly seized over $100,000 from the account, players reimbursed |
| Morón’s alleged losses | $100,000 to $200,000, including roughly $60,000 lost in 15 minutes, per his own calculation (Ignacio Morón) |
| Affected computers | 10 to 30 possibly affected across several regions (researcher WolfSec0x0) |
| GGPoker tip-off | analysis sent by poker coach Patrick Howard in September |
What happens next
Watch for GGPoker’s full response on any account action, plus whether other operators disclose their own warning histories on the account.
