Kalshi hits $3.96bn daily volume as parlays take 70%
Combo contracts drove 70% of the trading behind Kalshi’s back-to-back daily volume records, according to Crypto Briefing.
The hit
Kalshi broke its own daily volume record twice in a row, according to Crypto Briefing. The CFTC-regulated prediction market posted $3.91bn on 10 October 2026, then $3.96bn the next day, beating the previous high set just a week earlier.
Why it matters
The headline numbers look huge but notional volume counts full potential payout, not cash at risk. Many parlay combos were priced below 1 cent, so the real money traders put up is far smaller than the figures suggest. The bigger issue for Kalshi: these parlay products look close to sports betting, which is regulated state by state in the US, & any crackdown could hit the exact contracts driving its growth.
The record
| Daily volume record | $3.96bn on 11 October 2026 |
|---|---|
| Previous record | $3.68bn, set 4 October |
| Combo contract share | ~70% of volume both days, ~$2.80bn Saturday & ~$2.75bn Sunday |
| Weekly volume | $19.03bn total notional volume, 5-11 October |
| 30-day volume | over $73bn trailing 30-day volume |
| Weekend market total | over $8.5bn combined across Kalshi & Polymarket |
What happens next
Watch for any ruling on whether Kalshi’s sports combo contracts count as prediction markets or sports wagers.
